Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi
Kevin Morgan
Dear Ms. Pelosi,
My wife and I celebrated your being the first woman Speaker of the House. It appeared that justice had a chance to return to Washington. But when you promised not to pursue impeachment against George W Bush*, we had to wonder what you could possibly be thinking.
If lying us into war is not an impeachable offense, and if it is not the job of Congress to protect Americans from such offenses, then what good is the law to impeach anyway? If Bush is not impeached, we will send a message to future presidents that there is no law they cannot break, no offense horrible enough to threaten them with the prospect of facing justice.

Impeachment
Jon London
My good friend and owner of this Blog, Kevin Morgan, feels a need to impeach President Bush. You may have noticed an article in this wonderful electronic communications that Mr. Morgan wrote a letter to soon to be Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. In that letter Mr. Morgan points out that President Bush has lied to the citizens of this country and has gotten us into a war under false pretenses. Mr. Morgan believes the new speaker should use her influence to push impeachment proceedings against President Bush.
Well Kevin, there are many that would agree with you, but it ain't gonna happen. Why? Let me give it to you in two words. Are you ready for this? The two words are "Dick Cheney". There is no way under the sun that the Democrats would want Dick Cheney as President and if Bush were impeached and found guilty by the Senate, then Cheney would be the President and he would more than likely select another nut for his Vice President. From what I can tell from the polls, most Americans have had it with that bunch.

Rebuttal to Mr. London
Kevin Morgan
Oh contraire!
My respected friend Mr. London made excellent points in his rebuttal to my letter to Ms Pelosi regarding a demand for the impeachment of Bush. I must apologize for thinking it would be assumed that the impeachment of Bush would out of necessity also include the impeachment of Cheney. After all, it was Cheney who sent "Scooter" on the quest of finding the most damaging information he could to make Saddam appear a WMD laden nuclear threat. Whether the information was reliable or not.

Kevin Could be Right
Jon London
A few days ago Mr.Morgan wrote an article about a letter he sent to the Speaker elect. I wrote a comment in this blog concerning that letter. Kevin in turn wrote a rebuttal to my article and now here I come again with a rebuttal to his. Life goes on.
Mr. Morgan makes some excellent points in his rebuttal to my comments concerning the possible impeachment of President Bush. I must say I would have to agree with a number of those points but I still say, if the House impeaches, the Senate will not remove. It takes 2/3rd of the votes in the Senate to remove from office and I can not see that happening. It could very well be that the President will continue to miss things up to the point where the Democratic Congress will have to pull the plug but I don't think we are there yet.

Re: In Answer to Mr. Morgan's Rebuttal
Kevin Morgan
You got me. I can't disagree with a bit of it. Including the priority of just exactly which offense we would choose to impeach for if we could. But aside from impeachment, there must be some method for taking control of executive decisions that obviously wouldn't carry the approval of either party if Bush didn't by-pass the vote. Take for instance the two times he recess appointed John Bolton. He finally backed off this, but I don't believe for a minute it was to appease Democrats. It was to appease Arabs he is about to ask serious favors of with the UN being his only course of muscle power should they respond positively.
